About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Maintain knowledge of commodities handled and comply with company policies and government regulations
- Work with customers courteously and professionally
- Prepare trucks and railcars for loading and unloading
- Load and unload agricultural inputs using heavy or light-duty machinery and equipment
- Control and monitor load-out functions and operate automated scale/dump systems
- Conduct and record maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves and loading arms
- Inspect equipment for seeps and leaks
- Monitor and maintain inventory quality
- Deliver fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed and other products to customer sites
- Keep work areas clean, orderly and safe
- Perform housekeeping, grounds maintenance and snow removal
- Perform warehouse work, including loader and forklift operation, inventory loading/unloading and general maintenance
- Complete record keeping
- Report customer complaints, repair or maintenance needs and safety concerns to the supervisor
- Promote safety culture, follow safety policies and identify workplace hazards
- Perform other duties as needed to ensure smooth facility operations and excellent customer service
Requirements
What you’ll need- Must meet minimum age requirement
- 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations
- Ability to operate loaders, conveyors, tractors and track mobile
- Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
- High School diploma or GED preferred
- CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred
- Agriculture experience preferred
- Forklift certification preferred
- Must pass applicable pre-employment screenings if required
- Ability to lift 75 pounds
- Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs and bins
- Ability to work in dust and adverse weather conditions and temperatures
