About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Collect soil samples from fields alongside managers and customers
  • Carry out general labor responsibilities under general supervision
  • Maintain knowledge of commodities and comply with company policies and government regulations
  • Prepare trucks and railcars for loading and unloading, including sampling, opening hatches and attaching or detaching flexible hoses
  • Load and unload agricultural inputs using heavy or light-duty machinery and equipment
  • Control and monitor load-out functions and operate automated scale/dump systems
  • Conduct and record maintenance tasks, including lubrication of pumps, valves and loading arms
  • Inspect equipment for seeps and leaks
  • Monitor and maintain inventory quality
  • Deliver fertilizer, chemical, seed, feed and other products to customer sites
  • Maintain clean, orderly and safe work areas; perform housekeeping and grounds maintenance
  • Perform warehouse work, including loader driving, inventory loading/unloading, forklift operation and general maintenance
  • Complete record keeping and report customer complaints, repair needs, maintenance needs and safety concerns
  • Promote a strong safety culture, identify workplace hazards and follow all company policies, procedures and safety requirements
  • Perform other duties as assigned to ensure smooth facility operations and excellent customer service

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Must meet minimum age requirement
  • 1+ years of experience in Operations and/or Business Operations
  • Ability to operate loaders, conveyors, tractors and track mobiles
  • Ability to work extended hours during peak seasons
  • High School diploma or GED preferred
  • CDL license or ability to attain one with Hazmat endorsement preferred
  • Agriculture experience preferred
  • Forklift certification preferred
  • Ability to lift 75 pounds
  • Ability to climb rail cars, ladders, stairs and bins
  • Ability to work in dust, adverse weather conditions and varying temperatures
  • May be required to pass pre-employment screenings, including drug, criminal, motor vehicle, physical requirements and FMCSA Clearinghouse checks
