Key responsibilities & impact

Plan assigned design and/or development projects by preparing engineering documents, calculations, drawings, material lists, construction schedules, operating instructions, and integrating plant controls and automation.
Emphasize achieving optimum processing efficiency, reducing energy and material costs, and adhering to safety requirements.
Provide project management support and supervision to construction crews, organizing each step of the construction process.
Initiate purchase requisitions and select equipment for projects and maintenance.
Coordinate communication involving projects with supervisors, engineering teams, facility department managers, and outside consulting agencies.
Aid in process troubleshooting and conducting root cause analysis of process and equipment challenges.
Lead mitigation and corrective actions.
Participate in plant maintenance shutdown activities as assigned.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Mechanical, Agricultural, Civil, or Biosystems Engineering.
2+ years of experience in plant, process, or project engineering in a related industry such as biofuels or chemical manufacturing.
Knowledge and working experience in oilseed processing and refining operations
Demonstrated knowledge of plant construction and effective management of small to medium-sized projects.
Mechanical and electrical aptitude in equipment troubleshooting
Knowledge of unit operations around oilseed processing
PMP Training or Certification.
Lean training or certification.
