About the role
- Lead the planning, development, and execution of multiple capital construction projects simultaneously.
- Develop, review, and manage approved project scopes, schedules, cost estimates, and budgets.
- Coordinate contractor bidding, selection, and contract execution.
- Maintain accurate construction records and databases for active and completed projects.
- Conduct inspections and oversee construction activities to ensure work meets approved plans, specifications, and quality standards.
- Monitor job sites to ensure safe construction practices are followed.
- Work aligns with project schedules.
- Contractors meet contractual scope and quality requirements.
- Manage change orders and resolve construction issues to minimize schedule and cost impacts.
- Ensure projects comply with CHS standards, local building codes, and regulatory requirements.
- Coordinate contracts with contractors, suppliers, and service providers.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier and contractor relationships.
- Negotiate pricing, equipment discounts, and service terms.
Requirements
- High School diploma or GED.
- 7+ years of experience in construction or agricultural industries with demonstrated project leadership responsibility.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Mechanical Engineering, or Construction Management.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and equipment used in commercial and industrial facilities.
- Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously with complex stakeholder groups.
- Understanding of OSHA 1910, OSHA 1926, and NFPA standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and CAD software.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, negotiation, and organizational skills.
- OSHA 20-hour certification.
- Experience in grain, agronomy, energy, or manufacturing facility construction.
- Prior experience as an engineer, architect, or construction manager in large, multi-site operations.
- PMP Certification preferred.
