About the role
- Architect, build, and maintain an array of developer tooling that enhances developer productivity and reliability within a high-scale, distributed cloud environment.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve software development lifecycle bottlenecks and advocate for best practices in development processes.
- Architect our infrastructure systems to ensure reliability in the face of our high scale of traffic.
- Build on top of our infrastructure stack using Go, Terraform, Kubernetes, GCP, and AWS.
- Consult with engineers across the engineering organization as they build their systems to ensure infrastructure best practices.
Requirements
- A strong sense of ownership and the ability to independently drive projects end-to-end from architecture to rollout.
- Experience in building high-scale and distributed cloud systems. A breadth of experience with context across the stack from the Cloud Provider and Kubernetes level down to the application container level.
- Collaboration skills both within the team and cross-functionally across the engineering organization. The ability to grow and up-level your peers with experience mentoring junior engineers.
- Excellent skills in an object-oriented programming language such as Go, Java, Python, or C++. Knowing a specific language isn’t important; what matters is that you’ve become fluent in one by spending a lot of time on the types of projects where these languages are used.
