About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Complete the 12-month Nurse Residency Program: Float Pool Track starting October 26, 2026
- Participate in educational components and up to 18 weeks of preceptor-led clinical experiences
- Train on medical, surgical, and step-down units at Christiana and Wilmington Hospitals
- Support 40 nursing units serving a wide variety of complex diagnoses
- Complete ACLS, dysrhythmia training, and step-down competencies
- Participate in preceptor-led clinical training, independent practice, and professional development courses
- Float between Wilmington and Christiana Hospitals on medical, surgical, step-down, and transitional care units after successful program completion
- Attend continued residency meetings during months 8, 10, and 12
- Complete required assessments, rank preferred specialties and/or units, and participate in interviews
- Sign an employment commitment agreement requiring two years of service and at least 15 months on the unit of hire
Requirements
What you’ll need- Senior Nursing Students, Nurse Graduates and new RN's
- Graduating from accredited nursing school (BSN Preferred)
- BLS required
- Less than 12 months of nursing experience by the start of the program
- Eligible for Delaware license as a Graduate Nurse/Registered Nurse and obtain prior to start date
- Must pass State Boards and be licensed as a RN in the State of Delaware prior to starting position
- Must be willing and able to work all shifts (day, evening, and overnight), including weekends and holidays, during and after the residency program
- Cover letter and transcripts required with application
- Two clinical recommendations required
- One on-demand audio interview through HeyMilo and two clinical instructor references through SkillSurvey required before interview
