About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Perform all phases of CT scan testing on outpatients according to department procedures and protocols under the direction of the Radiologist
- Perform other diagnostic imaging exams as skills permit
- Perform clerical and scheduling duties as needed
- Use CT scanner units, radiology-supported computer systems, and CD burners
- Perform CT procedures and quality control according to department guidelines
- Complete assigned imaging and non-imaging procedures within designated times
- Enter accurate patient study information into clinical care systems
- Assist with workflow and patient care coordination
- Obtain clinical history and appropriate patient consent
- Verify insurance pre-authorization before scanning patients
- Maintain patient confidentiality and use two patient identifiers
- Assist students and new staff with department procedures, quality control, and radiation safety
Requirements
What you’ll need- Completion of ARRT registry in radiologic technology required through a two-year accredited program
- Completion of ARRT registry in CT scan required within two years of hire
- State licensure on radiation protection required
- Formal and/or on-the-job training in cross-sectional anatomy
- Associate’s degree required; an Associate of Science degree in a related field must be obtained within three years of start date under a signed Education Agreement
- CPR certification
- Yearly PEEPS certification for safe patient positioning and transfer
- Completion of IV training course
- Successful completion of the CT Registry exam required; non-certified hires have two years after hire to pass
- Ability to float to designated offices
- Work 40 hours per week on day shifts: 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m. or 7:45 a.m.–4:15 p.m.
