About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Serve as a strategic partner and subject matter expert on complex employee relations matters
  • Address caregiver inquiries and concerns related to workplace policies, procedures, and practices
  • Advise managers on performance management, disciplinary actions, and conflict resolution
  • Mediate and resolve employee disputes and grievances
  • Identify employee relations trends and inform morale and engagement strategies
  • Build relationships with leadership and partner with HR Business Partners and operational leaders
  • Support reorganizations and mitigate employee relations and legal risks
  • Provide labor relations guidance, training, and resources
  • Conduct and oversee employee investigations
  • Maintain compliance with evolving labor laws and manage legal risk, third-party claims, hearings, and agency responses
  • Document employee relations activities in ServiceNow and maintain accurate case records within SLAs
  • Conduct exit interviews and analyze trends
  • Partner with Legal, Compliance, and Centers of Excellence on policies, investigations, and claims
  • Respond to and attend unemployment hearings
  • Develop, update, interpret, and communicate HR policies
  • Develop and facilitate employee relations education and training
  • Implement caregiver action plans and progressive discipline
  • Act as the first level of escalation for Employee Relations Specialists
  • Mentor and advise Employee Relations Specialists
  • Participate in survey readiness and HR compliance efforts
  • Lead employee relations process improvement initiatives
  • Coordinate return-to-work arrangements and accommodation requests
  • Develop and implement employee relations strategies with HR Business Partners
  • Leverage data and metrics to identify trends, evaluate risk, and inform improvements
  • Conduct needs assessments to enhance employee job performance
  • Perform assigned work safely and other related duties as required

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required
  • 5 years of progressive experience in employee relations, focused on complex investigations and strategic initiatives
  • Extensive knowledge of federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification strongly preferred
  • Experience with an HRIS system
