Management of sourcing, contracting and purchasing protein raw materials at Chomps
Collaborate with manufacturing, planning, sales, marketing and innovation teams to ensure material demands are supported
Continuously evaluate the state of material demand and supplier performance
Bring new ideas and solutions to improve the quality, cost and availability of supply for Chomps
Establish and execute standard strategic sourcing efforts in protein categories
Develop expertise in Poultry procurement of multiple species
Manage supplier relationships through utilizing supplier scorecards and formal quarterly business reviews
Coordinate material flows and the introduction of new protein suppliers and USDA EST number locations
Support supplier quality approvals and documentation requests
Lead costing and sourcing feasibility for innovation stage gates
Establish program to assess and manage risk across the protein supply base

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Meat Science, Supply Chain Management, Finance, Accounting, Engineering, or related field
5-7 years of experience in buying and procurement in CPG Food industry
Prior direct experience in protein, livestock, broiler, or other poultry industries within the meat industry preferred
Proficiency in Excel and ERP/MRP systems, NetSuite preferred
Mastery of procurement, strategic sourcing, and supplier management
Strong understanding of forecasting and inventory management
Outstanding analytical skills with demonstrated success organizing, analyzing and accurately interpreting large amounts of data
Outstanding communication (both verbal and written) and relationship management skills
Ability to prioritize workload to deliver against key metrics and deadlines
Ability to travel 20-30% of the time (on average once a month)
