About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Assist the Facilities Manager by supervising facility aspects of restaurant management at the market level
  • Perform facility maintenance and repair through monthly site visits and restaurant analysis
  • Formulate preventative maintenance schedules for cooking equipment, HVAC systems, sinks, plumbing, electrical circuits, and refrigeration units
  • Carry out procedures when facilities cease functioning, function improperly, or threaten employee or customer health and safety
  • Train managers, crew, and restaurant staff to manage, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facilities
  • Ensure staff consistently follow facility maintenance practices and procedures
  • Conduct facility maintenance and repair seminars
  • Provide Operations and Regional Facilities leadership with maintenance visit recaps
  • Identify issues contributing to higher maintenance, repair, or capital reinvestment costs
  • Guide restaurants on maintaining and updating facility records
  • Perform equipment and building repairs during emergencies and scheduled site visits
  • Perform new store turnover, 90-day, and one-year walks/punches with contractors and the Operations Team
  • Liaise between restaurants, landlords, contractors, and vendors
  • Investigate, analyze, and determine whether to escalate facilities issues
  • Represent facilities at operations management meetings and communicate information to facilities leadership
  • Provide field support and communication to the Development Department
  • Assist with communicating contractor deficiencies on reinvestment or repair projects
  • Complete other duties supporting projects or resolving business issues

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Strong trade knowledge of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, commercial cooking equipment, appliance repair, and basic HVAC/refrigeration
  • Knowledge of rules and regulations governing facilities safety requirements
  • Ability to manage and coordinate multiple schedules while planning work for timely results
  • Ability to communicate clearly and patiently and train others on facility maintenance and repair concepts
  • Clean Motor Vehicle Report for travel between restaurants
  • Responsible for safe driving requirements determined by law
  • B.A./B.S. in a related field or equivalent education and experience
  • Two years of formal or informal training on repairing and maintaining facilities
  • Experience with restaurant equipment, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, or appliance repair preferred
