About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Primarily supporting the Front Desk and performing scheduling / care coordinator duties in the evening hours or as time permits throughout the day.
  • Primary support of Front Desk for all departments and providers housed at the CCD - perform all check-in, patient registration, and checkout duties; assist with insurance questions and issues if they arise.
  • Scheduling and Care Coordination support for the Autism, School Assessment, and MET teams to be performed during the evening hours after center closes but while patients are still on-site.
  • This includes sending messages and letters via MyChart or email (if no MyChart), outreach calls to family to obtain necessary documents needed for evaluation, patient group administrative duties, scheduling and reschedules, etc.
  • Support special projects and patient events.
  • Provides clerical support for ambulatory clinic. Coordinates appointments, schedules services as ordered by providers and acts as a receptionist and a resource person for the office.
  • Answers general questions related to the scheduling process and clinic services and completes follow-up scheduling as necessary.
  • Answers and appropriately handles all incoming calls to the office. Enters scheduling related data into computer system (Epic) as indicated.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • High School graduate or Certificate of General Educational Development (GED) or High School Equivalency Diploma (HSED) required
  • less than 1 year of related experience required
  • Prior experience in health care organization preferred
  • Interpersonal skills necessary to gather and share information with physicians, patients, visitors, families, and team members in a courteous and confidential manner.
  • Knowledgeable in Microsoft Office suite including Outlook, Word and Excel.
  • Organizational skills necessary to maintain records, coordinate clinic appointments, and prioritize work independently.
  • Ability to concentrate and pay close attention to detail using computer scheduling, entering orders, transcribing physician's orders, and arranging patient services.
  • Ability to type at a minimum of 35 words per minute to complete form letters and data entry preferred.
