About the role
- Provide programming and technical support for clinical application systems with development and maintenance of projects.
- Support programs and systems related to the electronic health record (EHR) and other clinical applications and software that support clinical care.
- Commit to clinical staff and departments and collaborate across the Health Informatics and Technology (HIT) division and the IT department to provide clear communication, collaboration and technical expertise.
- Provide technical support to HIT analysts and lead small projects and/or technology initiatives through all phases of systems development including planning, development, implementation and operation for complex computer projects.
- Create and update system documentation including diagrams, technical schema, and project related documents and communicate changes to Senior Directors of HIT.
- Focus on lab instrument interfaces with EHR and other 3rd party lab systems; opportunities in radiology and cardiology.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Health Informatics or related degree and 3-5 years experience.
- OR High School diploma, or equivalent, or associates degree and 7 or more years experience may be accepted in lieu of a Bachelor's Degree.
- Experience in the support, development, and management of Healthcare IT.
- CPHIMS (HIMSS) Preferred.
- At least one application-specific Epic certification relevant to the department (determined by role leadership) Preferred.
- Must live within the KC Metro area.
- Seasonal influenza vaccine is a condition of employment; must be willing to be vaccinated if found non-immune to measles, mumps, rubella (MMR) and chicken pox (varicella) and/or without evidence of tetanus, diphtheria, acellular pertussis (Tdap) vaccination since 2005.
- Drug screen will be performed upon hire.
- A personal interview, formal education and training, previous work experience, references and a criminal background investigation all are factors used to select candidates.
