About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide oversight for patient safety, patient monitoring, and patient care provided by unlicensed assistive personnel
- Support hiring, training, and supervision of unlicensed personnel
- Serve as a back-up resource for Patient Safety Supporters
- Communicate policy, procedure, compliance, and environment of care updates
- Track usage and report metrics for system needs
- Manage day-to-day staff operations, including assignments, task management, time tracking, performance feedback, and on-the-job training
- Facilitate communication and cohesive behavior among team members
- Participate in developing policies and procedures for the central staffing department
- Maintain daily statistics and monthly reports for sitter usage
- Resolve communication problems and improve customer satisfaction and patient safety
- Develop and share content for staff meetings
- Act as a consultant to other disciplines and advocate for patients
- Guide staff in budget oversight, scheduling, productivity, and resource utilization
- Participate in department goal development and achievement
- Assist the Educator with educational opportunities
- Conduct performance evaluations and assist with hiring decisions
- Partner with the Educator on staff orientation and onboarding
- Perform other duties as required to support the department
Requirements
What you’ll need- At least four years of healthcare and/or supervisory experience
- Experience as a Patient Safety Supporter, Behavioral Health Tech, Patient Care Technician, or Patient Care Specialist preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in healthcare, business, or related field preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Knowledge of medical terminology
- Supervisory experience
- Strong customer service skills
- Excellent written/verbal and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and make independent decisions when circumstances warrant
- Demonstrated ability to hold others accountable
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other Windows-based applications
- No professional certifications required
