About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide accurate and timely assignment of diagnostic and procedural codes on medical records
Review medical records, super bill, and charge sheet to identify diagnoses and procedures
Assign ICD-10-CM codes and CPT-4 codes to outpatient procedures
Abstract diagnostic and procedural codes into the network system
Review and monitor assigned work queues and physician notes reports
Provide information on specific problem accounts to the Coding Supervisor
Collaborate with the Coding Supervisor, Physician, and Practice Manager

Requirements

What you’ll need

3 years of experience in hospital and/or physician practice outpatient coding
Minimum of one of the following certifications: Certified Coding Specialist-Physician-based (CCS-P), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC)
Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, coding guidelines, and computers
Proven detail orientation and good problem-solving related to coding
