About the role
- Serve as the primary point for emergency communications, handling high priority calls and dispatch security personnel promptly and efficiently.
- Monitor and respond to a variety of alarms (fire, boiler, panic, codes, etc.) and initiate appropriate emergency protocols.
- Oversee CCTV surveillance, identifying and reporting unusual activities to maintain a secure environment.
- Utilize advanced dispatching systems to deploy security officers to critical areas and document all activities accurately.
- Coordinate with staff and emergency services to manage incidents effectively and ensure a rapid response.
- Maintain comprehensive logs and records, including daily activities, incident reports, and parking citations.
- Make clear, concise, and urgent overhead announcements during emergencies to guide personnel and visitors.
- Assist with emergency functions including current event monitoring, weather monitoring, and disaster support.
- Ensure all reporting means are performed accurately and timely.
- Maintain a clean, organized area.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of experience in security, law enforcement, military, or public relations.
- Some college preferred.
- Relevant professional certification in emergency dispatching or communications is highly desirable.
- Healthcare or emergency services experience is highly desirable.
- Exceptional communications skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Strong organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Demonstrated ability to remain calm and effective under pressure, with excellent problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using personal computers and dispatching software.
- Ability to work independently and make sound judgments in emergency situations.
- Commitment to confidentiality and ethical handling of sensitive information.
