About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead financial oversight, reporting, and compliance activities
- Strengthen internal controls and financial procedures
- Oversee accounting operations, budgeting, payroll, and cash management
- Prepare and present financial reports for leadership, Board, and Finance Committee
- Support local chapter financial operations and treasurers
- Coordinate Form 990 preparation and other regulatory filings
- Oversee QuickBooks administration and financial systems
- Assist with implementation and integration of donor management/CRM systems
- Supervise and support the Staff Accountant
- Provide strategic financial recommendations that support ministry growth and sustainability
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active involvement in a local church
- Agreement with the CEF Statement of Faith and Ministry Compliance Agreement
- Commitment to the mission and values of Child Evangelism Fellowship
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or finance experience
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
- Experience with budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Proficiency in QuickBooks and Microsoft Excel
- Ability to work independently and develop effective financial processes
- Preferred CPA or equivalent professional certification
- Experience with nonprofit or faith-based organizations
- Experience with donor management/CRM systems
- Knowledge of ADP or similar payroll platforms
- Experience supporting multiple entities, locations, or chapters
