About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as the hospital sales specialist within an assigned Columbia, SC territory
- Meet sales objectives for Chiesi USA’s CARE promoted hospital products
- Call on targeted customers and promote or sell products using approved methods
- Achieve and exceed quarterly and annual sales goals
- Conduct in-services and clinical discussions with physicians, pharmacists, and hospital staff
- Navigate hospital formulary processes
- Implement territory business plans aligned with regional and national goals
- Establish and maintain relationships with medical centers, pharmacies, physicians, medical staff, and others
- Develop influential customers as local advocates and champions
- Schedule and conduct high-impact meetings with targeted customers and peers
- Implement special programs such as speaker bureau programs, symposia, and convention displays
- Refine sales and retention strategies to optimize business outcomes
- Partner with internal Chiesi teams to meet customer needs and advance the selling process
- Develop, update, and follow territory business plans
- Prepare reports and presentations for management
- Present monthly sales reports and identify trends, opportunities, and obstacles
- Gain proficiency with products and sales tools
- Manage the territory budget within company guidelines
- Respond promptly to management and customer requests
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year accredited university
- Two years’ pharmaceutical industry sales experience
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and public speaking skills
- Proven organizational and territory management skills
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Proficiency presenting scientific information using visual aids, clinical reprints, and technical data
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Successful completion of new hire training and ability to pass product knowledge tests
- Ability to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple responsibilities with minimal supervision
- Valid driver’s license and acceptable driving record
- Thorough knowledge of healthcare regulations, compliance standards, and hospital credentialing processes
- Ability to obtain and maintain necessary hospital credentials
- Successful completion of a drug test, including testing for marijuana
- Must live in the area of the assigned Columbia, SC territory
- Experience in specialty pharmaceutical sales preferred
