About the role

  • Lead the development and execution of the national sales strategy for Chiesi’s respiratory franchise
  • Recruit, onboard, and manage a high-performing sales team comprised of (2) Area Sales Directors - East and West; (12-15) Regional Sales Directors; (100-150) Executive Sales/Sales Representatives
  • Serve as a member of the US AIR leadership team, collaborating cross-functionally with Marketing, Market Access, Commercial Excellence, Medical Affairs, and other departments
  • Establish KPIs and performance metrics to drive accountability and results
  • Monitor market dynamics and competitive landscape to adapt strategies accordingly
  • Foster a culture of excellence, integrity, and innovation within the sales organization
  • Represent the sales function in senior leadership discussions and strategic planning
  • This is a field-based position, with the desired candidate preferably located in the Central or Eastern time zones

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 - 15 years of progressive sales leadership experience in the pharmaceutical or biotech industry, with significant experience in sales management and leadership, ideally at a national or large regional level
  • Direct experience launching pharmaceutical products, with a focus on respiratory or related therapeutic areas
  • Deep knowledge of the respiratory therapeutic area, including disease states, treatment guidelines, and relevant products
  • In-depth understanding of the respiratory markets, including patient journey, market access, and reimbursement
  • Proven success in building and scaling high-performing sales teams in dynamic environments
  • Strong business acumen, including proficiency in market analysis, forecasting, and budget management
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and lead
  • Exceptional leadership, coaching, and team development capabilities
  • Strong analytical skills; ability to leverage data to drive decisions
  • Ability to travel up to 50/75%
