Director, Strategic Sourcing – 3rd Party Manufacturing
CHEPSenior procurement leader to build and lead Strategic Sourcing approach for 3PL in Americas. Transforming partnerships with external service providers to enhance operational resilience.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead the execution of procurement strategies for the region/function
- Design, manage, and continuously improve procurement strategies
- Develop, mentor, and lead a high-performing procurement team
- Champion the development of procurement professionals
- Oversee the execution of high value and strategic supplier relationship management
- Build strong, collaborative relationships with key suppliers
- Identify, unlock, and deliver cost savings opportunities
- Drive initiatives for hard cost reduction, total cost of ownership (TCO) improvements
- Redesign and refresh category strategies
- Develop and implement best-in-class sourcing approaches
- Act as a strategic business partner to senior leadership teams
- Ensure procurement processes adhere to corporate policies, ethical standards, and regulatory requirements
- Develop risk mitigation strategies for procurement activities
- Establish and track procurement performance metrics
- Regularly report on key performance indicators (KPIs)
Requirements
What you’ll need- Senior-level experience in procurement, strategic sourcing, or supplier management
- Demonstrated success negotiating outsourced industrial, manufacturing, or other 3PL services
- Experience operating in complex, multi-country environments
- Strong commercial judgment, negotiation skills, and stakeholder influence in a 3PL environment
- Ability to lead through change and operate effectively in ambiguity
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or procurement certification preferred
