About the role
- Take full responsibility for the Checkmk Cloud engineering group, including people, delivery, quality, and technical execution
- Collaborate closely with the CTO, Engineering Managers, and Product teams to scale the SaaS platform
- Translate the product roadmap into resource and timeline planning
- Ensure timely delivery of high-quality software
- Proactively identify and resolve key engineering and product delivery challenges
- Manage and coach parts of the engineering team, including conducting 1:1s and feedback sessions
- Conduct annual career progression discussions and salary reviews with developers
- Foster team culture and cohesion through events and initiatives
Requirements
- Senior engineering leadership experience in a SaaS or cloud environment
- Strong engineering background
- University degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
- 5+ years of hands-on software development experience
- 4+ years in technical leadership, including hiring, 1:1s, providing feedback, building teams, and delivering features on time with appropriate quality
- Strong technical expertise
- Clear communication skills for hybrid or remote work environments
- Fluent English required; German is a strong plus
