About the role
- Evaluation of insurance policies, assessment of risks, and effective communication with clients regarding the legal standards by which an insurance coverage dispute will be measured
- Extensive legal research and drafting of coverage opinions, as well as briefs, memos, and pleadings
- Represent insurer clients in court and in depositions
- Collaborate closely with partners and clients to deliver timely coverage advice
- Manage deadlines and assignments with a high level of ownership and independence
Requirements
- A Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
- Active license to practice law in Oregon and/or Washington; additional bar admissions in Idaho or Montana are a plus
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurer or policyholder coverage practice
- Experience with depositions and mediations; extended coverage opinion experience a plus
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
- Professional demeanor with strong client-relations and communication skills
- Must be responsive and organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks at the same time
