💰 $85,000 - $120,000 per year

About the role

  • Evaluation of insurance policies, assessment of risks, and effective communication with clients regarding the legal standards by which an insurance coverage dispute will be measured
  • Extensive legal research and drafting of coverage opinions, as well as briefs, memos, and pleadings
  • Represent insurer clients in court and in depositions
  • Collaborate closely with partners and clients to deliver timely coverage advice
  • Manage deadlines and assignments with a high level of ownership and independence

Requirements

  • A Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
  • Active license to practice law in Oregon and/or Washington; additional bar admissions in Idaho or Montana are a plus
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurer or policyholder coverage practice
  • Experience with depositions and mediations; extended coverage opinion experience a plus
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
  • Professional demeanor with strong client-relations and communication skills
  • Must be responsive and organized, with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks at the same time
