Director

• The Executive Director (ED) serves as the chief executive of CRY America, responsible for providing visionary leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight to advance the organization’s mission.
• Reporting directly to the Board of Directors, the ED will guide CRY America through an important leadership transition, shaping the future structure of its U.S. operations while sustaining its strong partnership with CRY India.
• This role requires a dynamic, entrepreneurial fundraiser who can sustain CRY America’s successful event-based fundraising model—galas currently generate the majority of revenue—while strategically diversifying into major gifts, institutional donors, and corporate partnerships.
• The ED will serve as the organization’s primary ambassador, cultivating high-net-worth individuals, engaging the Indian diaspora, and forging relationships with foundations and corporate partners.
• Partner with the Board of Directors to strengthen governance and consider new fundraising expectations for board members.
• Build credibility and alignment across diverse stakeholders, including U.S.-based staff, volunteers, donors, and the CRY India team.
• Navigate a three-month overlap with the outgoing President (transitioning to a temporary Board role) to ensure continuity while establishing their own leadership.
• Balance the energy of a small, relatively new U.S. team with the need for strategic clarity, sustainable revenue growth, and organizational stability.

Risk

• Reports directly to the Executive Director and serves as both strategist and integrator for AANEM and ANF.
• Deliver on annual and long-term strategic objectives and translate organizational priorities into clear strategies and actionable plans.
• Serve as a central connector across departments, committees, and the Executive Director; foster collaboration and elevate accountability.
• Guide annual planning processes, enhance internal systems, processes, and accountability to support growth and efficiency.
• Provide strategic coaching, constructive feedback, and performance accountability to senior leaders; model transparency and effective communication.
• Oversee AANEM’s membership strategy focusing on priority groups and partner with Marketing, Education, and Advocacy teams to drive recruitment and retention.
• Handle ethics complaints and oversee ethical standards; assist in contract management and review for AANEM and ANF.
• Oversee relationship with HealtheCareers and work with Wiley regarding the AANEM journal.
• Support the Executive Director in budgeting processes and assist with legal issues related to overall organizational functions.
• Build strong relationships with board and committee leaders, support effective governance, and serve as liaison between the Executive Director and Senior Leadership Team.
• Attend Annual Meeting (fall), spring and winter Board Meetings, and additional travel as necessary for site visits and special projects.

Vice President

• Lead and expand GMHC’s fundraising operations to meet current and future organizational goals.
• Oversee a growing development team and serve as a key strategic partner in achieving a five-year revenue growth plan—from $7 million annually to $12–$15 million.
• Lead a multi-channel fundraising strategy with a focus on special events, corporate partnerships, major gifts ($5,000+), planned giving, and foundation support.
• Design and lead a comprehensive development strategy to grow revenue from $7M to $10M and ultimately $12–15M within five years.
• Strengthen existing revenue streams while identifying new opportunities for diversified, sustainable support.
• Build systems and infrastructure to support long-term fundraising performance and donor retention.
• Lead the vision and execution of high-impact fundraising events that drive both revenue and visibility.
• Partner across departments and with board members to activate donor networks and event attendance.
• Ensure consistent, compelling donor communications that align with GMHC’s refreshed brand and community voice.
• Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of high-net-worth individuals and prospects, with a focus on five-, six-, and seven-figure gifts.
• Oversee a growing planned giving program and ensure effective strategies for long-term legacy support.
• Expand and deepen corporate and foundation partnerships, including event sponsorships and programmatic grants.
• Supervise and support a dedicated development team, fostering a collaborative, high-performing, and inclusive work culture.
• Partner with the CFO, Executive Team and Board of Directors to elevate fundraising capabilities across the organization.
• Serve as a visible, engaged member of the executive leadership team.
• Leverage GMHC’s investment in brand realignment and increased public awareness to enhance fundraising outreach and impact.
• Align development goals with marketing and communications efforts to support consistent messaging and engagement.
• Champion a mission-driven, equity-centered approach to philanthropy and relationship-building.
