About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage full-cycle recruitment for CDL drivers across assigned lanes and terminals
- Source candidates through Indeed, Craigslist, internal ATS, cold calling, text/SMS outreach, and past-applicant databases
- Screen candidates by reviewing MVR, PSP, and Clearinghouse records, verifying employment history, and confirming CDL/endorsements
- Conduct interviews to assess candidate fit, experience, and driver expectations
- Coordinate drug screens, background checks, and road tests with compliance and safety teams
- Guide candidates through onboarding, including offer details, pay structure, dispatch handoff, and start-date logistics
- Build lasting post-hire relationships with drivers to support retention and address early concerns
- Track requisition pipelines and hiring metrics across multiple open roles
- Monitor competitor postings and market pay rates to maintain competitive sourcing
Requirements
What you’ll need- 3 to 5 years in safety and training; transportation industry preferred
- Previous experience in driver training, recruitment, and safety and compliance is an asset
- Experience hiring drivers from different states within the US is required
- Safety-driven expertise in HOS, DOT regulations, and driver welfare
- At least three years of truck driving experience is an asset
- Solid understanding of the trucking industry
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
