About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Lead the development and evaluation of wellness strategies and programs that integrate Indigenous teachings, trauma-informed practices, and evidence-based approaches
  • Mentor wellness staff and advise organizational leadership on culturally responsive wellness policies
  • Design, facilitate, and continuously improve wellness, creative, and peer-connection activities rooted in Indigenous cultural practices
  • Provide one-on-one support and regular check-ins to Claims Helpers and team members
  • Support Elders in Sharing Circles and promote emotional, cultural, and mental wellness across project teams
  • Participate in wellness program development, review, and planning sessions

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 7 plus years of experience in helping or human services roles, ideally within an Indigenous community or organization
  • Post-secondary diploma or degree in a related field (social work, counselling, Indigenous studies, health promotion, organizational psychology, etc.)
  • Deep personal connection to and understanding of Indigenous cultures, traditions, and ways of knowing, being, and doing, gained through lived experience
  • Expertise in Indigenous-based mental health, trauma-informed care, and culturally safe wellness practices
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in mentoring, coaching, or overseeing wellness programs
  • Ability to advise organizational leadership on culturally responsive wellness practices
  • Experience facilitating workshops, circles, group sessions, or cultural wellness events
  • Commitment to cultural humility, reconciliation, and continuous learning
  • Successful candidates will be required to complete a Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check as a condition of employment.
