About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own end-to-end delivery of civic dialogues across active cities, from recruitment through facilitation to post-dialogue reporting
  • Maintain a biweekly launch cadence while ensuring high quality
  • Lead, hire, onboard, and develop the program manager team
  • Redesign and document the 12-week dialogue playbook into a repeatable system
  • Implement AI-powered workflows for participant matching, synthesis, and insight extraction
  • Build trusted relationships with city offices, mayors, staffers, and political leaders across the spectrum
  • Protect the program's non-partisan credibility
  • Partner strategically with the GM and policy directors on program growth and direction
  • Develop effective, implementable city-level policy

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 8+ years of experience in operations or program leadership
  • Ideally, experience as a Chief of Staff or senior operations leader in a government office or civic/political organization
  • Proven people management experience, including developing senior or expert-level individual contributors
  • Direct experience in or alongside city governments
  • Track record of building and scaling programs or processes from an early stage
  • Experience running structured dialogue, deliberative processes, or community engagement programs
  • Cross-partisan experience with conservative- and liberal-leaning stakeholders
  • People and team leadership skills
  • Operations and program management expertise across multiple concurrent complex programs and staggered 12-week cycles
  • Systems thinking and AI fluency
  • Strategic program design skills
  • Understanding of civic dialogue and deliberation principles
  • Cross-partisan stakeholder management skills
  • City-level policy development skills
  • Must be based in the United States
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States
