About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Identify campaigns for our team to test over email, social and press that would likely resonate with conservative media.
  • Consistently bring in top tier media coverage on a select number of powerful campaigns.
  • Consistently get social media influencers to promote campaigns within your portfolio, work with our social team to generate content for our channels that performs well.
  • Support petition starters to drive their campaigns to victory and talk about their campaign to press.
  • Write brand emails that perform well to a wide swath of Change.org’s email audience.
  • Be on top of compelling news stories to help with campaign selection and escalation.
  • Use media to drive campaign impact, victory, and brand awareness; including pitching to press, building reporter lists, and suggesting stories for social media.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 3-6 years working in social organizing, campaigning or advocacy
  • 7+ years working in communications
  • Strong writing skills, with experience writing press notes, marketing emails, and social content.
  • Strong media skills, including experience working with and pitching to journalists, participating in media strategies that gain the attention of key stakeholders, and using media to build brand affinity.
  • Extensive network of relationships with journalists and influencers who cover conservative issues.
  • Demonstrated success organizing social campaigns and getting the attention of decision-makers.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, rapid response environment.
  • Experience building complex, data-driven campaign strategies.
  • A strong sense of what petitions will perform well on social media.
  • Willingness to work across differences, including providing support to policy-compliant campaigns that you may not agree with, but that align with Change.org’s commitment to being an open platform.
