About the role
- The Senior Revenue Accountant is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606 and company policies. This role supports the monthly close process, analyzes contracts, collaborates with cross-functional teams (Sales, Legal, FP&A), and helps maintain internal controls. The position plays a key role in operationalizing revenue processes, system enhancements, and audit readiness, particularly in SaaS or subscription-based businesses.
- In this role, you’ll
- Review and approve Customer Contracts, Sales Orders, and Revenue Arrangements in Salesforce and NetSuite.
- Identify prospective modifications and linked contracts in accordance with ASC 606 and manually merge contracts when necessary.
- Prepare and review monthly unbilled receivables, deferred revenue schedules, and reconciliations.
- Post monthly revenue journal entries for multiple subsidiaries.
- Perform month-over-month customer analysis.
- Update fiscal year revenue report for management.
- Implement or modify revenue recognition processes in accordance with ASC 606.
- Recognize issues in the revenue recognition process and suggest appropriate controls.
- Accurately and thoroughly review and reconcile all ledger accounts on the balance sheet.
- Partner with Sales, Legal, and FP&A to review deal structures and ensure proper revenue treatment.
- Assist with audit requests by preparing revenue-related schedules and providing supporting documentation.
- Drive process improvements and automation opportunities to streamline revenue accounting operations.
- Maintain and update revenue accounting policies and documentation to reflect current practices and compliance requirements
- Support system enhancements in Salesforce, NetSuite, or other tools to improve revenue reporting accuracy and efficiency.
Requirements
- Exceptional attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex issues, identify root causes, and develop simple, effective solutions.
- Ability to review complex contracts and interpret their impact on revenue recognition
- A strong bias toward action and automation
- Experience building and improving processes within Quote to Cash
- Strong working knowledge of US GAAP principles and financial statements, including ASC 606
- SaaS and Data experienc
