About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Manage projects from inception through close-out
- Be accountable for project deliverables
- Communicate expectations to team members and stakeholders
- Resolve issues throughout the project life cycle
- Provide technical and construction support by managing project budget and schedule
- Monitor design scope development, review designs, review constructability logic and value management
- Manage overall project coordination
- Responsible for contractor and consultant contracts including Architects/Engineers and other technical consultants
- Coordinate design review efforts with CHA, City of Chicago Department of Buildings and regulatory agencies for compliance with regulations and guidelines
Requirements
What you’ll need- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Bachelor’s degree in Architecture, Engineering, Construction Management or related field or equivalent field/management experience
- Minimum 4 years of responsibility in a project manager role for construction and/or building maintenance projects
- Preferably for City of Chicago agencies or HUD projects
- Excellent communication (written, verbal and interpersonal) and negotiation skills
- Effective problem-solving skills along with excellent organizational and planning experience
- Ability to meet schedule and budget commitments in a dynamic environment
- Working knowledge of federal, state and local housing regulations and budgeting/accounting principles is preferred
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to project sites
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects
- Proficient use of MS Office required
- Minimum OSHA 30-Hour certification required or obtained within six (6) months of employment
- PMP and CCM Certifications desired.
