About the role
- Proactively work with CHA Property Office to identify actual or potential compliance issues at existing CHA properties.
- Stay updated on changes in regulations and guidelines affecting affordable housing and ensure that policies reflect those changes.
- Conduct internal inspections and audits of affordable housing properties to assess compliance with safety, quality, and program standards.
- Maintain thorough and organized records of compliance activities, audits, inspections, and any issues or corrective actions taken.
- Serve as a resource for staff questions related to affordable housing regulations, tenant eligibility, income verification, and other compliance matters.
- Evaluate the effectiveness of compliance procedures and recommend improvements as needed.
- Assist with compliance-related performance reviews and assessments of housing programs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Real Estate, or a related field preferred
- Certification in affordable housing compliance (e.g., Housing Credit Certified Professional (HCCP), Public Housing Manager (PHM), or equivalent) is a plus
- Minimum 2-4 years of experience in affordable housing compliance, public housing, with a strong understanding of federal, state, and local affordable housing programs
- Experience with HUD programs (e.g., Section 8, LIHTC) and tax credit compliance preferred
- Strong knowledge of affordable housing regulations, policies, and industry standards
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and housing management software (e.g., Yardi)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Strong ethical standards and commitment to maintaining confidentiality
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively within a team environment
- Detail-oriented and proactive in identifying and solving problems.
