About the role

  • Provides administrative support to the assigned Local Advisory Council’s (LAC) office
  • Performs general clerical duties, including typing, copying, faxing, and filing
  • Greets visitors and maintain sign‐in sheets
  • Opens, sorts, and distributes incoming correspondences, including faxes and emails
  • Distributes flyers as needed
  • Screens telephone calls and takes messages
  • Schedules meetings and appointments for CAC/LAC President and Board Members
  • Maintains an inventory of office equipment, materials and supplies
  • Forwards equipment and supply needs from the CAC/LAC President to the CAC staff
  • Verifies items received from the CAC and matches requisitions and invoices
  • Composes, types, and proofreads correspondence to support the communication needs and daily work requirements of the LAC President and/or CAC management staff
  • Types, proofreads, and edits reports, meeting minutes, memorandums and other documents
  • Coordinates with CAC staff travel arrangements for LAC members
  • Assists the LAC President in handling resident grievances
  • Provides clerical support to the Building Blocks and Building Presidents
  • Interacts with the police department, property managers, drug prevention agencies, and other organizations
  • Organizes and maintains accurate file records of all documents
  • Scans/faxes information as requested
  • Distributes flyers and information to residents regarding services and upcoming events
  • Participates in planning and coordination of special initiatives
  • Aids residents as requested
  • Submits activity reports to assigned CHA staff
  • Occasionally requires working hours outside of CHA's established hours of 8:30am‐5pm, Monday‐Friday
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1‐2 years’ experience in general office responsibilities and procedures
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of modern office methods, procedures, and filing techniques.
  • Ability to maintain a good working relationship with residents, CAC Board Members, and LAC Presidents.
