About the role

  • Participate in architecture discussions, system reviews, design planning, and technology roadmap planning for desktop integration efforts
  • Act as Subject Matter Expert for development and implementation of Desktop OS images
  • Engineer large-scale software deployment solutions using MECM and MDT
  • Develop tests and implement software distribution packages and updates across enterprise endpoints
  • Provide information and recommendations to meet user-based software requirements
  • Implement server OS deployment methodologies including automated server builds
  • Provide support for OS patching infrastructure (HCL BigFix, Windows Update/MECM)
  • Analyze, evaluate, and recommend desktop, laptop, tablet, and server hardware
  • Perform security-related tasks: documentation, vulnerability scan review, assessment support, patch management, and auditing
  • Integrate Windows 10 image with Microsoft Exchange 2013, Microsoft Office 2013, and 3rd party applications
  • Work independently and collaborate with teams to support government IT services

Requirements

  • Acts as the Subject Matter Expert for development and implementation of Desktop OS Images
  • Experience with Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager (MECM) and Microsoft Deployment Toolkit (MDT)
  • Develops and implements software distribution packages and updates for desktops, laptops, tablets, and servers
  • Strong familiarity with scripting languages such as PowerShell and VBScript
  • Implements server OS deployment methodologies including automated server build processes
  • Supports OS patching infrastructure such as HCL BigFix or Windows Update/MECM
  • Analyzes, evaluates, and recommends desktop, laptop, tablet, and server hardware
  • Performs security tasks including documentation, vulnerability scan review, assessment support, patch management, and auditing
  • Experience integrating and upgrading desktops/laptops from Windows 7 to Windows 10
  • Experience upgrading Microsoft and 3rd party applications
  • Experience with litigating software such as Ipro and Concordance
  • Ability to work independently with only minor guidance
  • Experience integrating Microsoft Exchange 2013 and Microsoft Office 2013 with Windows images
  • Integrating anti-virus applications in an image
  • VPN/Remote access experience (Cisco Secure Access with RSA a plus)
  • Good writing skills
  • (Ideally) VB and/or VBA coding experience
  • (Ideally) VDI/Citrix experience
  • (Ideally) SMS/SCCM experience
  • (Ideally) Understanding of PKI
  • (Ideally) VMWare experience
