About the role

Support a migration from Oracle to Postgres (Microsoft Azure Postgres)
Manage PostgreSQL database environments proactively and ensure scalability
Create and maintain technical documentation using defined templates
Collaborate with stakeholders to transform high-level objectives into technical requirements
Ensure availability, performance, and resilience of database systems
Perform and assist with performance tuning
Monitor databases for security and minimal downtime; handle rollouts, patching, and upgrades
Work within an Agile development approach to support a Data Analytics and Business Intelligence platform focused on federal customers

Bachelor's degree
Must be US Citizenship
7 years of experience with administrating PostgreSQL Databases in Linux environments
Experience with setting up, monitoring, and maintaining PostgreSQL instances
Experience with implementing and maintaining PostgreSQL backup and disaster recovery processes
Experience migrating Oracle schema, packages, views, triggers to Postgres using Ora2Pg tool
Drive efforts to migrate from Oracle to Microsoft Azure Postgres database
Create and maintain technical documentation
Collaborate with internal and external parties to translate technical objectives into requirements
Ensure availability and performance of databases; perform and assist developers in performance tuning
Proactively monitor, patch, upgrade, and maintain database systems
Work within a structured and Agile development approach
(Ideally) Experience implementing and maintaining data warehouses; AWS RDS for PostgreSQL; Oracle databases; cloud environments such as Azure and/or AWS; prior federal consulting experience
