About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provides care to patients preparing for Gastroenterology procedures
- Focuses on preparation for procedures with the patient/family
- Prepares for discharge to home or other extended facilities
- Works closely with hospital and clinic staff in coordinating patient care
- Schedules patients for Gastroenterology procedures
- Conducts pre-procedural and post-procedural phone calls
- Provides consistent patient and family education
- Screens patients for Fast Track colonoscopy
- Completes documentation to avoid delays on day of procedure
- Assures compliance with Joint Commission, CMS, and other regulatory standards
- Assists in Digestive Health Service Line during high acuity times
Requirements
What you’ll need- Registered Nursing in State of Illinois
- Minimum 1 year CGH GI experience required
- Skilled in use of electronic medical record preferred
- Ability to write reports and proposals utilizing effective written communication preferred
