About the role

  • Shape brand strategy from insight to execution – Lead the development of positioning platforms, messaging architectures, and strategic narratives rooted in discovery, research, and real audience insights. Own strategic direction for your assigned brands, ensuring every recommendation is clear, compelling, and aligned with what the client needs to achieve.
  • Craft briefs that inspire greatness – Your creative briefs aren't just documents, they're launching pads. You'll develop compelling, insight-driven briefs that give creative teams the clarity, direction, and inspiration they need to produce work that breaks through the noise and actually changes behavior.
  • Be the strategic voice clients trust – Serve as the day-to-day strategic lead, delivering confident counsel and building strategy POVs that turn complex insights into actionable communication roadmaps.
  • Facilitate breakthrough thinking – Lead client workshops, stakeholder interviews, and strategic sessions that push positioning and brand planning forward, not just document what already exists.
  • Connect strategy to all critical business touchpoints – Partner with account teams and cross-functional leads to ensure your strategic thinking informs everything downstream from creative development to content planning to tactical activation.
  • Drive growth and support new business opportunities – Contribute meaningfully to pitches by crafting strategic approaches, shaping pitch narratives, and presenting with confidence.
  • Stay ahead of the curve but true to the craft – Keep your finger on the pulse of market trends, industry shifts, and emerging opportunities, weaving these insights into every client recommendation. All the while, being a driving force to ensure the fundamentals of marketing and human behavior keep the team grounded.
  • Become the go-to expert – Serve as a subject matter authority on your client brands, therapeutic areas, and markets. Know the competitive landscape, understand customer needs deeply, and stay fluent in the science and clinical context that matters.
  • Translate science into strategy – Take complex medical, technical, or scientific information and transform it into clear, compelling strategic frameworks that guide creative teams and inform communication planning.
  • Apply deep market knowledge – Leverage your understanding of life sciences and biopharma dynamics (especially in areas like rare and hard to treat disease) to shape positioning and messaging that actually breaks through.
  • Orchestrate collaboration – Work closely with account, creative, digital strategy, medical, and other teams to ensure strategic alignment from kickoff to delivery.
  • Elevate everyone's thinking – Provide strategic guidance that helps internal teams understand client goals, the brand landscape, and what audiences really care about.
  • Build bridges, not silos – Proactively foster productive working relationships across the agency, creating an environment where great work happens.
  • Solve complex problems with clarity – Create thoughtful, insight-driven recommendations that help clients navigate tough communication challenges with confidence.
  • Champion the power of strategy – Be a vocal advocate for how strong strategy shapes better creative work and drives integrated communication planning.
  • Model excellence – Show what proactive problem-solving looks like and raise the bar for strategic thinking across the organization.
  • Develop the next generation – Mentor peer and early-career strategists through coaching, actionable feedback, and real skill development opportunities.
  • Spot and grow talent – Identify stretch assignments and growth opportunities that build team capabilities and advance careers.
