About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Support the PMO Lead in maintaining and improving CFC’s project, programme and portfolio governance framework
- Run PMO processes including stage gates, approvals and controls, ensuring projects follow agreed standards, templates and reporting
- Maintain portfolio RAID logs and other controls, escalating key risks, issues and delivery concerns
- Prepare portfolio reports and dashboards covering progress, benefits and delivery risk
- Consolidate project updates into a reliable portfolio performance view for senior leadership and governance forums
- Own and improve PMO tools such as SharePoint, Microsoft Lists and Power BI
- Maintain organised, current and accessible portfolio documentation
- Coordinate assurance reviews, health checks and stage-gate readiness
- Work with Project Managers and Business Analysts to improve planning, reporting quality and PMO standards
- Create concise materials for steering committees and governance forums
- Identify and support improvements to PMO processes, reporting and ways of working
- Support resource and capacity planning, demand analysis, portfolio financials and benefits tracking
Requirements
What you’ll need- Experience working in a PMO, project support or project delivery role, ideally across a portfolio of change initiatives
- Good understanding of project and programme management methods and governance, including stage gates, RAID management and status reporting
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data, spot trends and present clear insights and recommendations
- Confident using Excel, SharePoint and Microsoft Lists
- Experience with Power BI or similar reporting tools is an advantage
- Excellent attention to detail, with a focus on data quality, consistency and completeness
- Clear and confident written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences
- Strong organisational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines
- Comfortable working with senior stakeholders and building positive relationships across business and technology teams
- Proactive, curious and keen to improve processes, with a continuous improvement mindset
- Experience within financial services or insurance, particularly the London Insurance Market, is beneficial but not essential
