About the role

  • Responsible for timely reporting to and delivery of financial data requests for North American senior management
  • Ensuring P&L and cash flows are optimized, including margin enhancement and providing input into local growth strategies; support proposals with robust business cases and financial projections
  • Providing KPI insights to the CFC Group and collaborating with Group Revenue and Actuarial teams
  • Contribution to the annual budget exercise and other forecasting requirements (monthly re-forecasting and long-term plan tracking), liaising with internal stakeholders
  • Supporting the central accounts function to close the CFC USA and CFC Canada accounting records on an accurate, complete and timely basis each month, ensuring local insight is included especially for accruals and prepayments
  • Supporting the central controls function to establish an Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (ICFR) framework for CFC USA and CFC Canada, including updating process documentation, identification of key risks and mitigating controls and supporting monthly internal control framework reporting
  • Ensuring adherence to all Group finance policies and providing reporting to the central accounts team as required
  • Acting as the main contact for the Group Finance function on any financial matter related to CFC USA and CFC Canada, including IBA and Tax related matters
  • Acting as the main contact for all North America staff for financial queries and as point of contact for Group Finance on the ground
  • Working with the Group Procurement function on supplier optimization and maximizing expense saving opportunities on third party costs

Requirements

  • Qualified Accountant (CPA or equivalent)
  • Experience in the Insurance/Insurtech/Fintech sector
  • Experience working in a private equity backed business beneficial
  • Advanced financial-modelling experience (P&L, balance sheet and cash flow statement modelling)
  • Strong analytical skills and comfortable working with large datasets
  • Motivated by meeting tight deadlines with high standards
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills; regular interaction with executive-level management and non-financial managers
  • Self-direction and autonomy as the first Finance hire in North America; team player
  • Familiarity with NetSuite accounting software advantageous
  • Expertise in Power BI highly welcomed
