About the role
- Main finance contact for central accounting and controls team onshore and trusted expert to local Executive Management team
- Provide financial support, commercial insight and healthy challenge to assist with growth plans
- Explore opportunities for top-line growth, margin, and cash flow optimisation
- Reporting directly to local Executive management and part of global Finance team
- Provide timely reporting and deliver financial data requests for North American senior management
- Optimize P&L and cash flows, support local growth strategies and develop robust business cases
- Provide KPI insights and collaborate with Group Revenue and Actuarial teams
- Contribute to annual budget exercise and forecasting (monthly re-forecasting and long-term plan tracking)
- Support central accounts to close US and Canada accounting records accurately and timely each month
- Support central controls to establish ICFR framework for US and Canada, update process documentation, identify key risks and mitigating controls
- Ensure adherence to Group finance policies and report to central accounts as required
- Act as main Group Finance contact for financial matters including IBA and Tax
- Point of contact for North America staff for financial queries
- Work with Group Procurement on supplier optimisation and expense saving opportunities
Requirements
- Qualified Accountant (CPA or equivalent)
- Experience in the Insurance/Insurtech/Fintech sector
- Experience in private equity backed business beneficial
- Advanced financial-modelling (P&L, balance sheet, cash flow modelling)
- Strong analytical skills
- Comfortable working with large datasets
- Motivated by tight deadlines with high standards
- Enjoy change and challenge
- Excellent communication and presentation skills
- First Finance hire in North America; self-direction and autonomy; team player
- Familiarity with NetSuite advantageous
- Expertise in Power BI highly welcomed
