About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, providing technical guidance and growth opportunities
- Collaborate with wealth advisors on integrated tax and financial planning strategies
- Provide proactive tax advice directly to clients
- Review and sign complex individual, fiduciary, and small business tax returns
- Coordinate quarterly estimates, projections, and year-end tax planning
- Improve tax department processes, technology adoption, efficiency, and client experience
- Lead special projects and cross-functional firm-wide initiatives
- Prepare client communications, technical memos, and planning documents
- Foster collaboration between tax and wealth teams and help shape organizational culture
Requirements
What you’ll need- Active CPA license is required
- Master’s Degree in Taxation or MBA preferred
- 5–10 years of recent public accounting experience focused on federal individual, fiduciary, and small business tax returns
- Experience preparing C-Corp, S-Corp, and partnership tax returns
- 2 or more years of management experience in a CPA or tax practice
- Demonstrated ability to grow and develop associates
- Ability to deliver quality work under tight timeframes
- Excellent communication skills and ability to be a team player
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Up to 5% travel
