About the role

  • Write internal and corporate communications content for Mila and take part in developing related strategies with other departments across the institute.
  • Collaborate with team members to produce a variety of content for Mila’s website, social media, newsletters, and intranet.
  • Ensure consistency of Mila’s tone, style, and messaging across all platforms and communication channels.
  • Contribute to ideation, prioritization, and planning of content to be produced.
  • Provide significant presence and support for strategic projects led by the communications team and the organization as a whole.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, marketing, or a related field.
  • A well-regarded writing style noted for precision and storytelling ability.
  • 3–5 years of experience in communications, with strong expertise in writing.
  • Fully bilingual in French and English, given the interactions you will have with our internal and external stakeholders and members of our anglophone academic community.
  • Ability to adapt your writing style to diverse audiences (academic, industry, employees) and to different formats or platforms (news articles, project pages, social media, newsletters, internal communications, etc.).
  • Understanding of SEO writing principles.
  • Knowledge of web content accessibility standards.
  • Experience with a web content management system such as Drupal (asset).
  • Curiosity, autonomy, and strong attention to detail.
