About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • Own financial strategy: Set and drive Certa's financial strategy and long-range plan, aligning capital allocation and investment with company goals, and serving as a strategic thought partner to the CEO and leadership team.
  • Lead fundraising & investor relations: Lead future financing rounds (Series C and beyond), manage relationships with investors and the board, and prepare board materials, models, and narratives that build confidence in the plan.
  • Drive FP&A and SaaS metrics: Own budgeting, forecasting, and scenario planning, and instrument the SaaS metrics that matter (ARR, net revenue retention, CAC payback, magic number, burn, and runway) to guide decisions and protect efficient growth.
  • Run accounting, controls & compliance: Own accounting operations, revenue recognition (ASC 606), tax, treasury, audit, and a strong internal-control environment across a global, multi-entity organization.
  • Build the finance function: Hire, mentor, and scale a high-performing finance and accounting team, and implement the systems and processes to support the next phase of growth - including eventual IPO readiness.
  • Partner across the business: Work with GTM, Product, and People teams on pricing, unit economics, headcount planning, and operational rigor, and lead strategic initiatives such as M&A or new market entry as they arise.

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • 10+ years of progressive finance leadership, including prior experience as a CFO or senior finance leader (VP Finance) at a high-growth B2B SaaS or enterprise software company.
  • A proven track record raising institutional capital (Series C or later) and managing investor and board relationships, ideally with exposure to a path toward IPO or exit.
  • Deep fluency in SaaS metrics, unit economics, and revenue recognition (ASC 606), with the ability to translate financial data into strategic decisions.
  • Experience scaling finance functions and systems through rapid growth, including multi-entity, multi-currency global operations and strong internal controls.
  • A demonstrated ability to build and lead high-performing teams, and to operate as a hands-on, strategic partner in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.
  • Exceptional communication and the ability to distill complex financial concepts for the board, investors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field; CPA, MBA, or CFA a strong plus.
