About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Provide tax structuring advice on buy-side and sell-side transactions
- Undertake tax due diligence for private equity and corporate clients
- Support senior colleagues in client discussions and present findings to clients
- Manage relationships with target management teams
- Lead preparation for and support due diligence meetings with target businesses
- Prepare due diligence analysis, review data, and ensure robust meeting notes and reports
- Prepare structuring reports covering key tax implications of proposed acquisition structures and commercial requirements
- Collaborate with internal tax teams, TAS, and Corporate Finance, as well as external contacts at law firms, banks, and private equity firms
- Support proposal preparation and project budget management
- Produce well-supported technical tax research using legislation, tax authority guidance, and firm resources
- Manage workload and prioritise tasks according to project demands
Requirements
What you’ll need- UK tax experience
- ATT, ACA, or CTA qualified, or part-qualified and close to being signed off
- Corporation tax compliance experience
- Exposure to transfer pricing, R&D, VAT, employment taxes, stamp duty, and share transactions/share option schemes
- Some experience advising on technical tax matters is beneficial
- Demonstrable ability to manage multiple deliverables, prioritise, and meet deadlines
- Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
- Strong interpersonal and organisational skills
- Ability to produce well-supported technical research using legislation, tax authority guidance, and firm technical resources
