About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

Provide direct patient care under the direction of the RN and according to the Aide Plan of Care.
Assist patients with self-administered medications within the specified scope of duties.
Measure temperature, pulse, and blood pressure and report abnormal results.
Assist with personal hygiene, grooming, bathing, skin care, oral care, and nail/foot care.
Assist with feeding, nutrition communication, and recording food and fluid intake.
Position patients for meals and support self-feeding.
Assist with toileting, bed pans, urinals, catheter bags, and ostomy-related procedures.
Safely assist with mobility, exercises, positioning, transfers, and ambulation.
Report changes and document pertinent patient information and care rendered.
Document interactions with patients, caregivers, doctors, and staff accurately and thoroughly.
Practice infection control principles.
Provide a clean, safe, and comfortable environment.
Perform light household tasks such as laundry, bed making, meal preparation, housekeeping, and shopping when authorized and needed.

Requirements

What you’ll need

Complete a Certified Nursing Assistant or Certified Home Health Aide program within the last 24 months.
Meet applicable state certification requirements.
Valid driver's license, auto insurance, and reliable transportation required.
Be in good standing on the HHA Registry, if applicable.
Complete an HHA/CNA course to work for a Medicare-certified agency.
Minimum one year of experience in the last 24 months as a Home Health Aide or Certified Nursing Assistant in a hospital, nursing home, home health/hospice agency.
Required to complete TB screening if selected.
Maintain personal vehicle liability insurance in accordance with state minimum limits or the specified higher limits.
