About the role

Key responsibilities & impact
  • The Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care
  • Responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care
  • Performs advanced administrative, operational, customer support tasks that require independent initiative and judgment
  • Performs clinical responsibilities such as discussing symptoms and obtaining vital signs
  • Administers medications and vaccines, performs phlebotomy, and collects specimens
  • Performs diagnostic screening tests, sterilizes and cleans equipment, and maintains examination rooms
  • Documents information into the electronic medical records system
  • Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers
  • Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows
  • Interpret and adapt procedures, processes, and techniques
  • Contributes to process improvement, delivers in-depth education, and provides advanced guidance/mentoring to other Medical Assistants

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Certified or Registered Phlebotomy experience
  • Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • 1+ years MA experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • CPR Certified
  • 1+ years MA experience in PCO center (preferred)
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience (preferred)
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication (preferred)
