About the role

Key responsibilities & impact

The Medical Assistant is the first contact for patient care
Responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care
Performs advanced administrative, operational, customer support tasks that require independent initiative and judgment
Performs clinical responsibilities such as discussing symptoms and obtaining vital signs
Administers medications and vaccines, performs phlebotomy, and collects specimens
Performs diagnostic screening tests, sterilizes and cleans equipment, and maintains examination rooms
Documents information into the electronic medical records system
Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers
Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows
Interpret and adapt procedures, processes, and techniques
Contributes to process improvement, delivers in-depth education, and provides advanced guidance/mentoring to other Medical Assistants

Requirements

What you’ll need

Certified or Registered Phlebotomy experience
Medication/vaccine administration experience
1+ years MA experience
High school diploma or equivalent
CPR Certified
1+ years MA experience in PCO center (preferred)
Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience (preferred)
Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish - must pass proficiency exam prior to foreign language communication (preferred)
