Key responsibilities & impact
  • Provide statistical expertise to clinicians and researchers from conception through conclusion of research studies
  • Assist with clinical research study design
  • Write statistical sections of research proposals, protocols, study reports, and manuscripts
  • Calculate sample size and statistical power
  • Generate randomization lists
  • Manage, manipulate, analyze, and interpret clinical data and databases
  • Present statistical analysis results to investigators
  • Interact with clinical investigators, physicians, and scientists throughout study development and results dissemination
  • Assist investigators with preparing data for analysis
  • Maintain statistical software and systems used by NASOC
  • Write scripts, programs, and SQL queries for data processing
  • Participate in educational workshops and one-on-one statistical training

Requirements

What you’ll need
  • Master's degree required
  • At least 1 year of experience
  • Sound knowledge of statistical principles
  • Strong computational methods skills
  • Experience with major statistical software packages such as SAS, R, Stata, and SPSS
  • Ability to perform complex data manipulation and analysis
  • Knowledge of EndNote, Smartsheets, and PASS is a plus
  • Positive attitude and detail-oriented approach
  • Ability to explain statistical results to researchers and investigators
  • Ability to work in a multidisciplinary research team setting
