About the role

  • Coordinate and support all of CCJ’s events and participation in public events
  • Run team meetings, draft and run outreach, maintain organizational documents, and track planning and outcomes metrics for CCJ's major events
  • Lead on conception, planning, execution, debrief, and post event follow up of CCJ’s major events
  • Coordinate and provide support for staff-led events, including Monthly Community Meetings and Movie Nights
  • Work with all Teams to support trainings and events related to campaigns or projects
  • Coordinate staff coverage and tabling materials for public events, such as fairs and farmers markets
  • Support logistics for movement-related meetings that occur within CCJ’s office and virtual space
  • Provide support to other staff and volunteers as needed

Requirements

  • Demonstrated events-related experience, either paid or volunteer
  • A commitment to CCJ’s mission
  • Self motivated, independent worker: ability to develop and execute project plans and workflows, able to scale planning to fit capacity
  • Strong multi-tasking skills: ability to manage multiple events at various planning stages simultaneously
  • Works well in fast paced team environment and respects deadlines
  • Strong communication skills: ability to communicate plans, needs, and progress to the team; ability to flex communication styles for internal and public audiences
  • Ability to work effectively and creatively with diverse people and organizations, including but not limited to local small businesses, partner organizations
  • Willingness to work flexible schedule, including many evenings and weekends and occasionally long hours
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace tools (Drive, Docs, Sheets, GMail, etc), Canva, social media, and willingness to develop additional skills
