About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Own end-to-end discovery and design for emergency response, communications, and incident management solutions.
- Lead design discovery with customers, internal users, and stakeholders, synthesizing feedback, usability findings, and product data to identify high-impact experience opportunities.
- Balance user needs, operational realities, accessibility, scalability, and technical feasibility.
- Drive design decisions using customer insights, workflow understanding, usability testing, and product data.
- Translate user needs and business goals into clear user flows, journey maps, prototypes, interaction patterns, and design specifications.
- Build a deep understanding of urgent, high-stress, operational response environments and the users who rely on them.
- Partner closely with Product Management and Engineering to deliver mission-critical capabilities and user-centered experiences.
- Contribute to prioritization decisions by representing user impact, workflow complexity, accessibility, design quality, and system consistency.
- Communicate design direction, tradeoffs, and progress clearly to stakeholders across Engineering, Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Operations.
- Define and track experience success measures, using insights to guide iteration and continuous improvement.
- Support cross-functional coordination for product releases and launches, ensuring successful implementation, rollout, and adoption across customer and internal teams.
Requirements
What you’ll need- 7+ years of UX Design, Product Design or related experience, including experience independently leading complex software design initiatives from discovery through delivery.
- Experience designing complex workflows, enterprise tools, operational systems, or other high-consequence user experiences where clarity, speed, reliability, and accessibility matter.
- Ability to quickly understand users, environments, workflows, and constraints; familiarity with products that connect software, hardware, physical environments, or real-world operations is helpful.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with a research- and data-informed approach to turning ambiguity into clear user flows, interaction models, prototypes, and design direction.
- Proven ability to partner effectively with Product Management, Engineering, Research, and cross-functional stakeholders, including clear communication of design rationale, tradeoffs, risks, and recommendations.
- Strong proficiency with modern design, prototyping, and collaboration tools; familiarity with responsible AI-assisted workflows is a plus.
- Comfort operating in a high-growth environment with evolving priorities, imperfect information, and a need for pragmatic decision-making.
- Occasional travel may be needed for internal meetings, customer engagements, or industry events.
