About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Schedule stock replenishment based on forecasts, vendor capacity, and manufacturing specifications
- Monitor customer back orders and initiate manufacturing as required
- Collaborate with the Forecast Manager to review and refine forecasts
- Coordinate with finance business managers on profitability concerns
- Schedule distribution-center work orders to assemble kits
- Manage excess stock levels to align with company goals
- Align with content teams on new product specifications and dates
- Procure finished goods from global manufacturers
- Ensure timely deliveries from vendors or internal shops
- Resolve supplier issues involving costing, specifications, and delivery
- Expedite jobs and arrange drop shipments when needed
- Collaborate with the distribution center to address receipt issues
- Work with cost accounting to finalize orders
Requirements
What you’ll need- Minimum of 3 years of progressive experience as a planner-buyer
- Proficiency with Excel, Oracle JD Edwards, SAP, or other ERP systems
- Knowledge of book manufacturing processes is a plus
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
