About the role
- Lead the design, development and implementation of technical solutions for complex projects, involving multiple domains.
- Participate in project planning and scheduling.
- Provide technical leadership and direction to a sizable team of engineers.
- May be a recognized expert in one or more technical areas.
- Take responsibility for non-technical elements of an engineering project (people, financials etc.).
- Review and interpret customer requirements/specifications and may act as primary customer contact.
- Analyze trade-offs in complex systems and recommend solutions.
- Develops deployment strategies and plans.
- Lead the deployment of strategic complex programs and coordinate site-wide deployment efforts.
- May manage relationships with key vendors/partners.
- Research systems ideas and will draw up plans for these systems.
- Design, modify and implement systems that meet customer and Celestica needs.
- Create designs in line with Celesticas procedures, regulations and customer standards.
- Keep up to date with relevant industry knowledge and regulations.
- Solve complex problems.
- Liaison with suppliers, customers, contractors, and other internal teams.
- Recommend system modifications.
Requirements
- 8 to 12 years of related experience
- Experience in similar job roles
- Strong engineering design experience in the field of Compute, Storage, or Network products required
- Knowledge of AI products, GPU servers is a strong plus
- Experience with high speed OSFP/QSFP networking design equipment and testing is a plus
- Experience in very high speed digital hardware design and development and understanding of complex concepts related to architecture, design engineering, reliability, prototyping and failure analysis required
- Design experience with DDR5, 100GbE or faster Ethernet, PCIe Gen5 or above, 56G SERDES, or similar interfaces is a plus
- Strong organizational, planning, and program management skills required
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment to meet aggressive goals and high quality standards required
- Experience in a “customer facing” environment desired
- Excellent multi-tasking and problem-solving skills desired
- Strong oral and written communication skills required
- International culture awareness, ability to communicate and collaborate within global team desired.
