About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Serve as a point of contact for patient care advocacy and patient-related communications.
- Communicate professionally with patients, families, therapists, and internal team members.
- Support patient discharge processes and follow applicable discharge procedures.
- Coordinate and track progress report deadlines for insurance companies.
- Submit progress reports and required documentation to insurance companies in a timely manner.
- Send reminders to therapists and clinical team members regarding report due dates and required documentation.
- Assist with authorization, reauthorization, and insurance-related communication as needed.
- Maintain accurate patient trackers, active client lists, and administrative documentation.
- Support verification of discharge documentation and patient chart completion.
- Respond to patient and family inquiries in a calm, professional, and service-oriented manner.
- Handle confidential patient information in accordance with HIPAA and company policy.
- Support front-office and back-office administrative tasks as needed.
- Complete other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
What you’ll need- Prior experience in healthcare administration, patient coordination, insurance coordination, or a similar administrative role preferred.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Excellent organization, follow-through, and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple deadlines and shifting priorities.
- Professional and compassionate communication style when working with patients and families.
- Comfortable using email, spreadsheets, patient trackers, and administrative systems.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements.
- Ability to work independently while also collaborating with a team.
