Market Development Engineer – Consumer & Industrial
CelaneseMarket Development Engineer responsible for driving new customer opportunities in targeted markets. Supporting material specification and providing technical knowledge for Celanese products.
About the role
Key responsibilities & impact- Targets new customers in selected market space(s)
- Generates opportunities for new business growth
- Manages internal new product development (NPD), testing, computer-aided engineering and external developments to drive projects to close
- Works with new customers to determine potential applications and best Celanese material solutions
- Works with Account Manager at existing customers to develop new applications and provide technical support as needed
- Provides technical support at existing customers as needed
- Manages Technical Exchanges at new and existing customers
Requirements
What you’ll need- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Science or Technical Field
- 5 Years in plastics or related field
- Technical and business or market development experience required
- Ability to work with customers to develop a tailored solution
- Develop deep customer and market knowledge
- Ability to interact, influence and facilitate at several levels of the organization
- Must be willing to prospect for new customers/projects and develop strategies for identifying and targeting new customers and segment strategies
- Willingness to travel - 50%
